About Me
A small personal site. UK-based solutions architect, long-time gamer, perpetual homelab tinkerer. Notes on cloud, self-hosting, games, and whatever else seems worth thinking about in long form.
Hello.
This is GRDNR.net, a small personal site by Ollie.. or.. me. It exists because the internet has gradually stopped being a place to think out loud and started being a place to compete for attention, and I would like one corner of it back.
I'm a solutions architect. I work in cloud and infrastructure, mostly Microsoft Azure: identity, architecture, integrations, automation, finops, you know... the slow careful work of making large estates behave themselves. I'm not going to write much about my day job here. There are NDAs, and frankly there are better places for that.
I am going to write about:
- Tech I'm running for myself. A homelab, a few servers, the small fleet of self-hosted tools that have replaced various subscriptions over the years. What's working, what isn't, and the slow drift towards owning my own data again.
- Games. I've been deep in Star Citizen for a long time, currently leading a freelance org and building data tools for the community. A few other games eat most of my single-player hours. Occasional notes on whatever else is in rotation.
- Tools and small projects. I like building useful things and giving them away. Some of that work lives at Freehold Stellar Works. Some of it ends up here.
- Whatever else seems worth thinking about in long form. Books, podcasts, the occasional bit of sharper opinion when something deserves it.
- The publishing schedule is "when there's something worth saying." If that turns out to be once a month, fine. If it's once a year, also fine. There's no algorithm to feed.
If you want to find me elsewhere, the nav has the relevant links. If you want to send a message, the email on this profile works.
Thanks for being here. I'm on Blue Sky.
