About me

I’m Ollie, the engineer, coder, and general nerd behind this site.

I build things that actually solve problems instead of just generating more noise. Professionally I’m a Solutions Architect with years of experience building and automating infrastructure, tooling, global networks, working with C-suite stakeholders, and workflows that scale. I work across clouds, frameworks, and platforms, and I insist on doing it in ways that are maintainable, secure, and just sensible. Secure by design is a fundamental principal that everyone should follow.

This site is my outlet for the stuff that doesn’t fit neatly into a ticket, a repo, or a Slack thread:

  • Technical deep dives — real, implementation-ready posts about programming, automation, and infrastructure.
  • Tools, scripts, and workflows — the kind of code I actually use in production and on my own machines.
  • Opinions backed by experience — not pontification, but hard lessons distilled into something useful.
  • Project showcases — from Rust and Python tooling to PowerShell automation and beyond.

What drives me

I started this publication in December 2025 because the internet is full of middling noise and half-finished tutorials. I want signal — clear, honest, technically rigorous content without the fluff.

A bit about me

I enjoy:

  • Writing real code (and writing about it).
  • Making complex systems understandable.
  • PowerShell to an embarrassing degree.
  • Learning Rust and Python because suffering builds character.
  • Gaming — yes, including Star Citizen and the absurdity that comes with it.

No AI generated fluff. No SEO clickbait. Just practical, well-tested insight from someone who lives this stuff.
